Lake District Holidays – A Log Cabin Retreat
It’s true that a holiday in the Lake District can never absolutely guarantee a week or two of perfect weather, but for anyone that has already visited this beautiful part of the world, tucked away in the North West of England, they know that what it does guarantee is a wonderful break surrounded by some of the loveliest countryside you will ever see. Mountains and valleys and of course those amazing lakes! There are many bodies of water in the Lake District, but perhaps only 16 major Lakes. Some of the biggest of these include Windermere, Ullswater, Coniston (famous for its water speed record attempts by the Campbell family), Haweswater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Thirlmere and Derwent Water. There are many different ways to enjoy the Lake District. If you live close enough, then a day trip to one of the Lakes or nearby towns for an afternoon’s shopping can prove to be most enjoyable but most people venture into the area for a holiday. There are hotels and caravan parks aplenty but it’s hard to beat Lake District log cabins for an independent and luxurious break. Just three miles north of Windermere is the idyllic Troutbeck Valley and its Limefitt Park log cabins. A range of luxury log cabins suitable for the whole family or a romantic getaway for two, the cabins are situated and surrounded by a perfect slice of countryside, with the Troutbeck itself running through its heart. For nature lovers, there may even be an opportunity to spot a rare red squirrel as this is one of the few remaining places in the UK (outside of Scotland) where you can expect to see one.
